Programme Of Events 2010
Hi everyone and welcome back. Another year has passed and our team of organisers are working hard to make this years event a great success. We are now in our third year and from the wonderful feedback we have received the word is "let the show go on".
This year we are starting our festival with a live show at The Kirk Theatre, Pickering on Thursday 10th June which features the music of the legendary Buddy Holly, plus the music of other sixties stars such as Elvis Presley and Roy Orbison. The show starts at 7.30 pm. Tickets for the show are just £5 and are on sale now at Reeds Newsagents and Television House, Market Place, Pickering and Eastgate News, Eastgate, Pickering.
On Fri 11th June there will be live 60s music in local pubs and clubs in the evening.
On Sat 12th June, during the day there will be a number of stalls, music, dressing up and a classic car parade at 5-00pm prior to the road closure after which the street party begins. The main bands will then play on two stages in the Market Place in the evening up to 10-00pm. Admission is totally free. After the main show there are live bands playing 60's music in the pubs and clubs around town.
The North Yorks Moors Steam Railway also have Sixties bands and classic cars at all stations throughout Saturday and Sunday, programme as follows:

Levisham – Shazam featuring Ian Geast and Shadows Music from 12 till 4, Heartbeat Rally Minis in the car park (note – parking limited), Real ale tent serving York Brewery ales;

Owners of Classic vehicles produced in the late Fifties and Sixties are invited to visit Pickering on the above date to add a period feel to the town during the day, with the option to take part in the Classic Vehicle Parade through the town at 5.00pm. All types of classic vehicles are welcome including cars, motorcycles, scooters, vans and commercials.
You are welcome to arrive in the town at any time of day but there will be limited parking available for period vehicles in the market place. However if you wish to take part in the

Pickering Sixties Festival, in conjunction with ´Yorkshire Day in Pickering´, are holding a joint fund raising event at the popular ´Spice 4 U´ restaurant in Hungate, Pickering, on the evening of Monday 2nd March 2009
This will be a very popular evening so book your table early to save disappointment.
There is a choice of two sittings at 6.30 pm or 8.30pm. All meals will be at normal prices and there is no entry fee for the evening.

Coming Sat 6th Dec 2008, Live Music At The Working Men's Club
We are pleased to announce a Live Music night at the Pickering Working Men's Club on Saturday 6th December 2008. There will be a small charge at the door of £2 (members £1) in support of the Pickering 60s Festival.
